...Milton Berle never reckoned on us having issues with the lack of healthy fear in our lives I suppose. Whatever feeling we feel toward our fathers or our parents in general is supposed to be skewed.

The chain reaction scenario makes sense, though the children who supposedly fear nothing are probably the most insecure of all. I understand that things are skewed, there's no way around it, but that doesn't make things any easier for the parties involved.
