I just watched Leaving Las Vegas.

Dat ain't ah very happy movie. Ya okay, Cheri?

It was very, very sad. I think I will be okay- but why make a movie that is so sad?

A lot ah people like ta make movies, music, art dat makes people feel somet'ing real.

Happiness is real, and it doesn't make me cry.

Ya gotta wonder iffen happiness would still be as great iffen dare wasn't times ya was sad. Sometimes ya gotta be sad ta appreciate bein' happy.

That's true, but I wanted to be happy. I wanted a love story- which it was, but it was sad. It made me cry.

It was ah twisted love story, cuz sometimes people will cling ta anyt'ing. Awh, Cheri ah'm sorry!

They could have made it work... It's fine. I should have been more specific when I asked for a love story.

Ah know, ah jus' kept t'inkin' dat iffen he could stop drinkin' it would be okay. *Nods.* Prolly, but it's hard ta have love witout some sad.

Is that kind of love worth that much sadness?

Ah don't rightly know. Love makes ya do crazy t'ings, makes ya blind. Ah thought ah loved someone once, even when he didn't love meh back. Truth be told, ah ain't got a lot o' knowledge 'bout love.
