Oh, c'mon Darce! You do need to smile more.

Makes you feel better! I think there's some science thing behind it..

I think it's something to do with en.. endolphins or something. I dunno what dolphins have to do with smiling, to be honest, but they're pretty funny guys when you see them on TV.

Anyways, just because you don't know that science, doesn't mean you get away with not smiling, mister.

Yup. Well no.

How about if I tell you the ladies love a guy with a nice smile? You could woo your love interest.

At least she'd be talking to you. Then you could strike up witty and intelligent conversation and then she'd be like 'take me!'.

Alright, alright, I guess being yourself is the most important thing. But it doesn't hurt to offer the occasional smile.

You are quite right, Mr. Darcy. In some cultures in the world, smiling is considered a malevolent thing and instantly earns the distrust of the recipient.

But being as we are not on San Domingue Island in the Caribe, perhaps the consequences would not be so dire if you did.

Of course. Consider for a moment that a smile can be used as a masque in order to hide ill intent or deception. Smiles can also give you a false sense of security, or make you appear to be a simpering fool. And you do not strike me as a fool.

However, I do believe that at the right time, and in the company of only those whom you trust implicitly, then it can be a simple, yet no less a generous gift.

If I implied that you had, then I apologise.
