New children are very hard work.

Kids of any age are hard work. I know all about that.

Especially new ones! *rubs his eyes*

So will I, in the not too distant future. And they keep you up all right - already been through that with my son.

I do indeed. She's just under a month old now. Her name is Emily Jane. *oh yes, he's very much the proud father, thank you!*

*smiles* Emily Jane - very pretty names.

Every new baby is precious. I'm looking forward to my new one, which I feel is going to be a girl...

She's a very pretty baby. But then, I am woefully biased.

*smiles* I had a feeling that Emily Jane was going to be a girl, too. I won!

*smiles back* We all think our own babies are the most beautiful, and we're all right in doing so. I've been proud of my son Gideon since the beginning, and always will be. Same with the new little one...

Gideon is a very nice name too. *smiles*

When is your...wife? girlfriend? lover? due?

Let's see... Amanda told us on August 22nd... *quickly calculates* She's due early next year, that means... forgive me, my brain is a little fuzzy right now, due to the headaches. *smiles apologetically*

*shakes his head a little and smiles* It's fine. She's due in May then.

*nods* I feel almost impatient for the little one... there's nothing quite like holding your newborn child for the first time.

No there isn't. Emily Jane was my first. There's nothing like it. The feelings...you feel almost high with it. Well, I did, I don't know what it's like for other people. I know Zoe felt the same, or close. Maybe more than me.

*softly* When I first held Gideon... there was so much pain as well as joy, since his mother died in childbirth. But I swore to be there for him always. And I kept that vow. There will be joy and pain when my daughter is born, too. Because I don't know if I will live to see her grow up...

*smiles apologetically* I'm sorry, shouldn't go on like this. It sounds depressing, when I do appreciate my life. Really. And you are very fortunate to have your Emily Jane. She sounds like a lovely child.

I know I am. I'm very lucky indeed.
