Real names are for people who aren't creative enough to come up with new names for themselves.

That's what I've always thought. But that would just be a
birth
name. What your parents called you. What exactly would you call a real name?

True enough. A name is simply something people use to avoid those 'hey you, with the hair and the face' moments. A means of picking someone out of a crowd. So, really, whatever one was being used at the moment could count as 'real'.

My thoughts exactly. You'd think people wouldn't be so touchy about it.

*spreads his hands and chuckles* I guess it gets confusing? I've noticed that people tend to get cranky if they can't keep up.

Most people grow into theirs, one way or another.

Or ditch it and find a new one, if they find it becomes inconvenient.

What if your name was "always changing"? Wouldn't you still fit your name?

That's true. But do you know a lot of Always Changings out there?

You could have a name that meant that. A name changes you, just not always the way it was meant to. Even if you leave it behind, you're different.
