-it's a union between two individuals.
-it usually acknowledges an intimate and sexual relationship.
-the end goal tends to be procreation.
-sex with your spouse is required.
-it is apparently every little girl's dream.
-it is many a man's nightmare.
-there is religion somewhere in there.
-it should be as expensive as possible.
