To begin with? My ungentlemanly behaviour, but I assure you my faults are many.

Everyone's got faults. You're no different than anyone else so stop whining about it.

Try being nice once and awhile. Cut down on the sarcasm. Being polite is a pretty easy way for people to like you.

Sorry, honesty doesn't always help with that. You sounded like you needed someone to knock sense into your head, no placate you.

Usually I prefer to do one at a time. Get the honesty out of the way and then work on making you feel better. You're at least trying, which I'm not very good at.

When it is expressed in the same instance as I am proposing marriage... Yes, I should say it was quite unnerving.
