I did the acting classes, not so much with that, so you can guess who I identified with on the show. *wry* But lots with the dancing and singing, but I decided not to become a starving artist waiting tables between gigs. Alas. :)
Hmm. Favorite show I've ever seen has to be Damn Yankees, but only because it was Jerry Lewis, and he actually broke his co-star on stage. They had to stop and catch their breath and regain character 'cause they were laughing.
Favorite show in general is probably... Notre Dame de Paris, which I saw in English in London a while back, but I'd love to see it in the original French.
lol. Don't worry, I am too. But that makes me feel bad because all I've seen are newer shows. Wicked, Spelling Bee, Jersey Boys, Spring Awakening, the Chorus Line revival, Sweeney Todd revival, Little Mermaid, Young Frankenstein, etc.
Well, you're ahead of me on the newer ones, then? :)
I used to go to the theatre with my family a whole bunch, I got... hm. Candide, Damn Yankees, I saw Cats a zillion times. Miss Saigon, A Funny Thing Happened To Me On the Way to the Forum (that was hilarious), Notre Dame... Threepenny Opera...
My friend and I are going to see Wicked Nov. 7th. It'll be my fourth time. What?! lol. It leaves in January and my absolute favorite boy is back! Besides, she's never seen anything more than school plays/musicals so I'm really excited for her to see it.
I still need to see Wicked... ever. And don't worry, I saw Cats a lot, and I saw Lord of the Dance. With Michael Flatley, wayyyyy too many times. Especially considering what an egotist he is. :)
I love it probably more than I should, but I kind of...identify with it, I guess. Mostly, though, I'm excited for her to see it...and then stage door it of course. lol
That's a shame. Human stories are influenced by and have their own influence on human lives. How we think reflected in theatre, or television, and both theatre and television have had its own influence on how we think.

Re: ooc:
Yeah, I have to content myself with making a yearly week-long trip tp NYC to see as many shows as I can cram in.
Re: ooc:
I should do something like that. Someday. Again. Maybe.
Re: ooc:
We started about four years ago. My senior year of high school.
Re: ooc:
Now I live in NC so, yeah, it would be too expensive. But man I do miss the theatre.

Lots of Shakespeare, which isn't musical, but. :)
Re: ooc:
The only play I've gotten to see since we started these trips is Talk Radio with Liev Schreiber, but it was AMAZING.
Re: ooc:
I used to go to all sorts of things, plays, musicals, ballet. Annual Christmas sing-a-long at the Kennedy Center.
