Nope. Daddy said it's not good to celebrate a holiday that's about bad people. I think I'm still going to get candy though. Mommy might get me some at the store.

Why can't you?

My daddy says that it's not safe because there are bad guys and that they like to come out on Halloween.

What are you gonna be this year?

Why not?

Because of the monsters. Daddy says it's not safe. And since he fights the bad monsters away, he says that I shouldn't have a party for them.

Well, the story goes that people dressed up to hide from the bad creatures.

I don't quite see Halloween as having a party for monsters...just having fun dressing up.

That's what I said! But daddy won't let me dress up and be like them. He can be silly, but mommy still gets me some candy so I like it.

*grins* Yep! This is my first time. My dad wouldn't let me go before either.

He says I'm just not allowed. Usually I stay in bed and mommy lets me stay up and watch Charlie Brown with him.

Really? Why didn't he let you?

Oh. *scowls* That's kinda silly. I mean, I like Charlie Brown and everythin', but still. You don't even get any candy or anythin'?

*shrugs* He...didn't want anyone to see me, I guess. Or he didn't wanna be bothered.

My mommy takes me to the store and we buy some candy. But we usually get chocolate and marshmellows and crackers and we get to make smores in the living room.

Well that's silly. We have silly parents. I think that when we grow up we should go trick or treating together!

Oh. Well, that's kinda fun. I've never had smores before. But still, it's more fun to walk around all dressed up and collect it. Do you get to get dressed up?

*has to smile* Yeah, we do. And that sounds like fun! It'd be fun to go trick or treatin' this year too, but I can wait.
