Old for you is probably, what, thirty?

I'm eighteen, not twelve. Old to me is somewhere along the lines of eighty, but age isn't a big deal for someone like me.

It's not really, but I didn't know that was why you were asking.

Just because it's not a big deal to me doesn't mean it isn't for my dad and overprotective brother figures. Besides, I've never...well, I don't do the whole hooking up thing. Haven't ever before, and don't see a reason to start now.

It was a good try though.

Y'do know what I mean when I say 'hook up', right?

I'm a teenager. Any kind of hooking up people my age do ends with clothes on the floor and a walk of shame the next morning. So if you mean anything other than that, no, I have no idea.

Really? This may sound like a really crazy question, but do you happen to be able to regenerate?

[She's all excited now, and is grinning ear to ear] Dean was right, I would find other people who were like me.

*he grins horribly, and unsheathes his claws*

Okay, I can't do the claw thing. That's something new.

[She isn't sure this is the best idea, but slowly moves her arm out for him.]

*he reaches out with a single claw and draws a line across her forearm, deep enough to bring a crimson welling of blood to the surface*

[She doesn't wince or even blink as he does so, she just glances down at her arm and then back up at him, watching his reaction. As he would expect, the wound rapidly closes and all that's left to show it happened was some blood on her arm.]

*he nods; he's familiar enough with the ability, and he's felt the scratch of his own claws many times*

So... what was it y'wanted? Help? Advice?

A mentor could be useful, since I have a lot of questions. But really, all I want to know is that I'm not going to be alone forever, that I'll have at least a friend I can talk to a hundred years down the road.

I can teach you a thing or two 'bout your mutation if y'want. An' I can pretty much guarantee that if it's anythin' like mine, you'll be around for a long while yet.

*he grins, hoping the smile comes across as being more friendly than predatory*
