[Rests his chin on his folded arms. And stares at Liam's bedroom wall.]
You know, I've never had any pets before. It must be why I'm so fond of Monster. I keep buying all these toys for him, and I probably shouldn't be. I mean, he's your cat. And I never asked you if you wanted a freakin' shoebox full of catnip mice. Maybe I was out of line.
[Easily lets his head be turned, although he looks kind of confused up until the point Liam starts to lean in. Then he gets the idea, and closes the remaining space between their lips.]
[Tilts his head to kiss him again, bringing a hand up a little shyly to rest at the side of Liam's neck.] I missed you more. [It's mumbled into the kiss, and he can't keep the small smile off of his lips.]
[Echoes the laugh with his own, and lays his head on his arms.] Spoilsport.
[Shakes his head a little] Don't mention it. He was alright. And I admit I was really lonely what with mom in the hospital and you gone. We kept each other company. Although mostly he slept.
*smiles softly, scooting a little closer and wrapping an arm around Toby's shoulders* I'm sorry. That you were lonely and all you had was my asshole of a cat to keep you company. Is your mom okay?
Yeah, she's doing a little better... She still seems so cold all the time though, sometimes it worries me. And I'm afraid to tell her that my grades are dropping. Since she didn't get to go to college she really, really wants me to do it but... [Sighs just a little, and shrugs.] It's... difficult.
*rubs his hand up and down Toby's back reassuringly* They know what's wrong, though, right? The doctors? I'm sure they'll get her healthy again soon.
She knows you're trying, I'm sure, and that's what matters. Anyone who sees you knows you're pushing yourself as hard as you can, kid. It's not like you're slacking and that's why your grades aren't doing the best.
[That... feels nice. It's definitely relaxing, making Toby's eyes threaten to slip shut.] It's some sort of anemia, I think? I.. I don't really understand it completely. I don't go to the hospital a lot. I don't really like them...
[Smiles a little, and fidgets with the fabric of Liam's bed covers, almost a little nervously.] Yeah, I guess that's true.
[And Toby looks concerned for a second, then lets himself be pushed before he crawls on the bed over to Liam's other side, laughing. Because srsly, Liam, lighten up!] Hey, no pushing! I'm petite and fragile!
Yeah, because we didn't know THAT already.
...I've heard of three of those movies. But it sounds fun. *smiles at him, knuckling an eye tiredly*
*raises his eyebrows for a moment, then grins* You want me to rub your belly?
Shh. It's a well-kept secret. :|
It was fun! We ate Chinese take-out and I painted her nails.
[Grins back] Well if you're offering I wouldn't say no, but that wasn't exactly what I meant.
oh definitely :l
That does sound fun.
...Yeah, I know. I was kind of thinking that you'd forget about me after a whole week and a half.

...You wanted me to forget about you? Why? I thought you liked me? Or is this still about the ages thing?

But -- thanks. For helping out with Monster and everything. Hopefully he wasn't too much of a pain.

Of course it's true. You're doing great; you're amazing, taking all this on by yourself.
