(The treatment keeps him pretty thin so he is easy to get into a standing position. He helps her a bit though, his feet only dragging as he walks.) Nothing'll happen'ta me. 'M invincible.
(If he was coherent right now, he would be really confused about her kissing his head. He does have some cognitive thought though, enough to know that what he did wasn't smart.) Don't tell my parents.
( reaches over to see if he hurt himself or not. thankful that he didn't she continued on and honked her horn to get the attention of the emergency room staff. this was her fault since she didn't put the pills up like she should. )
(A few nurses run out with a gurney, they open the door and take one look at his medical bracelet before pulling him onto the gurney and asking her questions like what he took, how much he took and how long he's been out.)
( she answers everything they ask her; listing off the names of the pills he took and how much of each. at least, that was what he told her and he could have been lying. it hadn't been that long since he passed out and she was just so worried about him. from now on, she was going to keep everything that could hurt him locked up. )
(They take him into the back and tell her to wait in the waiting room until he is stable and in a room. They were going to pump his stomach and get some fluids started.)
(A little while later his mother shows up but she ignores Erin and talks to the nurse, after getting a rundown of what happened, she leaves again as quickly as she came. About an hour and a half after that the nurse comes back and tells Erin that Cullen was asking for her and that she was welcome to go back if she wanted to see him.)
( erin hates how his parents are and she wants to make things up to him. therefore when the nurse tells her to that she's allowed to go back, erin practically jumps from her seat and rushes back to see him. she peeks through the door and at him for a good minute before finally coming in and taking a seat next to his bed. she reaches out and takes his hand within hers. ) Cullen?
(Cullen looked up when she walked in. His eyes followed her to her chair but his head remained planted against his pillow. The IV of fluids going into his arm gave a low hum as it pumped. He didn't squeeze her hand but he didn't pull away either.)
( she couldn't keep the tears from rolling down her cheeks and hid her face against the bed so he didn't have to look at her. this was wrong, she wasn't suppose to get attached to him, but he was all she had. )
I -- might not be there to save you next time and a new nurse might not be as observant.
Erin. (His voice was dull and raspy. He sounded emotionless, though that might have been on purpose. He turned his head slowly to try to see her.)
You can't save me....not...not in the end.
(He sighed and turned to look up at the ceiling. He was getting too attached. Then again, so was he, but it didn't matter as much for him. He wouldn't be leaving anything behind. She would be left behind and he would just be dead. It hardly seemed fair.) I won't do that again.
( that made her cry harder, but it was a silent cry. her shoulders shook and she didn't want him to see her like this. erin rubbed at her eyes and took in several deep breaths to calm herself. to distract herself, erin started to check all this iv's and make sure he was comfortable. if she responded to what he said before, she knew that she wouldn't say anything nice. )
No. (And just like that, he closed himself off. If she was going to go back to business, he would oblige. It was just a job, nothing more. His voice remained monotone even as he asked.) Did my parents come by?
( she wasn't trying to be strictly business. she was worried about him and you asked people you cared about if they needed anything. erin would rather get it for him than some nurse that she didn't know. adjusting herself in the seat, she squeezed his hand a little and rubbed her thumb over his knuckle. )
Your mother stopped by, but she was gone as quickly as she had arrived. Didn't pay attention to me, but I'm not anyone that important.
( she offered him a soft smile and picked up one of the cloths on the table to wipe his forehead. )
(Closing his eyes against the touch of the cloth he tried to ignore the fact that his mother barely stayed long. She was probably just trying to figure out if this was the last hospital visit, or just another of many. He gave a wry smile.)

You shouldn't. I'm invincible.

( her thumb brushed against the side of his face as her hand lingered. eventually she pulled her hand away. )
