As soon as she heard his voice, she turned and immediately closed the distance, throwing her arms around him. She didn't strangle him but she did hug him as tightly as she could without cutting off air intake.

"And it was terrible. Max was so serious, way more serious than he is now like all the fun just went right out of him. And I didn't just act like I was perfect and cold, I really was that girl. I never realized how much better we are as people just by knowing you. And... when we needed help, when we needed you, there was no one willing to forget reputation or useless conversation and just do what needed to be done. Oh god, they found us out. They took us to this place and took all these samples and injected us with things. I almost died and Max was able to save me but they shot him." Isabel squeezed her eyes shut and buried her face in his shoulder. It all just felt too real. So real she woke up sobbing convinced she could still feel Max's blood all over her arms. When she realized it was just a dream she all but tackled her brother. Michael was next.

Pulling back, she caressed the side of his face. "I'm sorry for what I said. I know why you hate Jesse so much. I wasn't immune. I just thought I was finally over it. I felt the same way about Maria for a long time but even when I hated her, I was always happy for you. I want you to be loved. If anyone deserves to be happy, it's you."

( surprised, he accepted the hug and hesitantly put his arms around her in return. he listened to everything she said, letting her talk, she seemed really shaken up about it and he had no idea this whole thing cut into her so much. )

Don't worry about it. And know that I'm happy for you, that you found someone. As quick as it might have been. ( that's him just trying to convey that he didn't say the things he said only to rip them a part. well, sort of. but not entirely. he took her hand from his face and held it between his own hands, shrugging his shoulders ) Everything.. it's over and we'll let it go, and stay out of each other's relationships, good?

...Yeah. Of course. That's what I meant. *Gives his hand a squeeze.* I hate when we fight. For real fights, not the regular us fights.

Because the regular us fights are just so much more enjoyable.

I don't know. *Shrugs* I think I'd kind of miss them if we stopped.

Then it's a good thing stopping probably couldn't happen anyway. You tend to get on my nerves. ( gives a smirk. ) I'm already waiting in dread for Christmas to roll around.

*Smiles back* Yeah, well you drive me crazy. You drive me to drink! *Chuckles a bit* I don't know what you could be dreading. Now that I don't live with my parents anymore and I don't have that stupid rule about no Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving, this is going to be the biggest best Christmas ever!

( it took him everything in his power to avoid gettig socked and not say "all hail the Christmas nazi". but he won't be able to hold it in too long. ) Great. I just can't wait. But, wait, so you can just stay in your apartment all November and December with your victim - I mean, husband - and decorate and make lists and whatever. And he can help you with your shopping and charity and crap! I think I'm really starting to like Jesse.

Not so fast. Jesse will be able to help some but he works 50 to 60 hours a week so you aren't off the hook. And don't act like you don't appreciate it when it's all said and done. I know it takes a lot of work but everyone benefits when Christmas is perfect. Not just me.

As great as it would make me feel to do the crowded shopping thing and go to the churchy sing song events, I can't. I have a strict schedule, do you know how many marathons there are on TV during that time? I've already started planning for it. Couting Snapple, finding the best frozen dinner, I'm just too busy. It's too bad.

*Gives him a look like yeah right then smiles* You're so cute when you think I'm giving you a choice.

( nods his head with a roll of his eyes because, yeah, he figured that was coming. ) Can't wait.
