It's not common knowledge that I'm different. Most people think I'm a vanilla human and I like it that way.
Relax....I am not going to hurt you. I just want to talk.
I mean magical. Chicago is a city filled with magic and I am one of her many guardians.
[Their drinks arrive and John waits until Mac has moved away before speaking again.]
There are wizards and Fae and other things most people don't like to think about...like say gods.
Magic? Like wave-a-wand-and-make-my-monster grow magic? Are you serious?

[John chuckles and sips his ale. He knew this kid was going to be a hard sell, but it's still funny how people always jump to Harry Potter when thinking about magic.]
It's no game, I don't play them when talking about serious matters. Magic is very real, very real and very dangerous. So sometimes people have to watch over those who use it and those who look after them.
