New job jitters are normal. Right?

Observation, though I guess it could count as experience.

People do have a tendency to get overwhelmed when exposed to a lot of new things. Especially when those things don't make sense or call their beliefs into question.

Which is just another aspect of learning, as is adapting to new experiences or surroundings.

Those seem to be the more difficult parts. Acceptance and adaptation.

Well, the best things in life aren't always the easiest. Not that it wouldn't be nice if they were.

That makes them the best things in a way. The hard work. Blood, sweat and tears.

Yep. I mean, there's a difference between toiling away and never getting where you want to be, and putting in the elbow grease that will.

What paper will I need to read to see how you are doing in your new job?

The Daily Planet, but it might be a while until you see a byline. I'm still learning the ropes.

Good thing I have plenty of time.

Could be years. Read because it's a good paper, not to catch a glimpse of my name.

Like I said I have time and prefer reality to fantasy. The paper is something I always read.

[Clark drains the last of the alcohol from the bottle and sets it down, idly stretching out his legs.]

Oh. Yes, sorry. [He roots around in his pockets for a moment, before pulling out a small notebook and pen, which he uses to scribble down his cell. The page is ripped out and extended to Steve.]

Yes....when you do what I do talking with someone who has no idea who you are is fantastic.

I thought you were MIA during the second World War.

I did...crashed a plane into the Atlantic Ocean and froze into the ice...was woken up six months ago after 72 years.
