[She sighed.]

Earth died where I was from, the Mars colonies, where my genetic donor was from, didn't last all that much longer. A virus wiped out everything. But Earth was dying before then. It's our mission to take our spaceship back to Earth to start again. I was in color space on the ship before ending up here, Deepwater is my home. That's why I've never seen Earth.

Yeah, it is what they are...they are dead, walking death. They stink. {She looked around, and frowned.}

Why do I think we have two very pertinent problems on flip-side of the same coin?

[ Tom tried to relax, but with how things were on Earth, it was proving to be difficult for him to do that. He didn't reach for a revolver that had been holstered at his hip; he would rather solve this diplomatically if he could.

Still, he was puzzled by the young girl, and he canted his head to the side. ] Spaceship, how did you end up with a spaceship? As for Mars, the only expeditions that we have made there have been with drones. We've set foot on our own satellites, but that was decades ago. So, you can excuse me for being a little lost.

...Zombies, and I don't think you need to remind me about the stench that comes from a corpse.

[ Tom looked over his shoulder at the quiet, New England suburb that they had been hiding at. ] Aliens instead of zombies, I'm not sure, which side of the coin is worse.

[Yoona could understand not relaxing. Color space they only passed out from exhaustion to sleep and that was because they couldn't go on. When Reb had been acting oddly she'd done 36hours awake without thought to keep Deepwater running.]

I'm a clone. It's all I've known. I've really only known Deepwater. It was built as an ark. To go very far away and then come back to bring life back to the Earth.

You guys need help with anything?

Tomorrow? Finding food and maybe trying to find away to make a small dent in taking the planet back. [ Tom looks away from her and back out into the empty street. ]

And what about you, what are your plans for the next day? [ And, of course he didn't get her name, he reaches out his hand to her with that smile still on his face. ] Sorry, but I didn't get your name.

ooc: I still owe you a tag from Hal. I've been bit slow due to a summer cold.

Though, I'm sure after two years of constant fighting, some of us have became so blanketed by the fog of war. This has become our way of life, and even if we win, there's still so few of us alive.

[ Tom had his hopes up, but even then he knew that the human race had a very long road ahead of them. ] And, if by chance we survive this, all it takes is something else to come along and wipe us off the face of the Earth.

[ Tom listened to her explain the spaceship that she had, and the knowledge that she was a clone was almost frightening. He stepped over towards her, and he held up a grungy hand in the air. ] But, you made it to Mars, and from the recent arrivals on Earth... I wonder if you intended to go beyond our very own star system.

[ The notion of an ark to leave Earth behind sounded good, but still he'd never leave everything he fought for behind. He lost too much, to just give it all up for another life. /small> ] You're at least giving me hope that at some point in time things got better.

We need all the help we can get, this war isn't going to end in a day unfortunately. [ Tom smiled as he offered out his hand to the kid, at one point he would argue against sending a kid out on the frontlines, but these times are hard. ] And, what's your name kid?

Those sound like really good plans to me. ( His question gets a small shrug out of her. ) Whatever I'm asked to do. I haven't been assigned to any jobs yet.

( With a smile, Maggie shakes his hand. ):£ Maggie Greene. I came in with the small group from Georgia a few nights ago. My dad's the one who was shot in the shoulder. We really appreciate y'all takin' us in and helpin' him. Him and my little sister is all I got left.

Awesome! I mean...well the war part sucks, but I'm glad to be able to help out however I can! [Bart grinned as he looked at the outstretched hand and shook quickly.] The name's Bart, used to be known as Impulse though, but that was a long time ago. Look I'm all for helping you guys out however I can, just...well I don't kill and don't use weapons.

Something always has, this one just got through because for once there wasn't anyone to stop them because they were gone.

[Jack sighs deeply saddened and it is clear the weight of his many years is pushing down on his shoulders.]

I am sorry for that......truly sorry.

Right. {She said in a soft, but stiff voice. Watching him intently.} Wasn't really what I was going for, but okay!

Yeah, you are telling me.

I'm sure you'll find your talent during all of this, most of us have. [ Tom let go of her hand. ] It's nice meeting you, Maggie. Name's Tom Mason. [ He is welcoming of the help that Rick's group brought along with him. ]

In this time of need, helping your father was the least we could do. We've got enough resources to spare for now, and like I told Rick, you're all welcome to stay for as long as you need to.

[ Tom continued to look out at the road with a traffic snarl of empty cars with a long hard look forming on his face. He considered trying to figure out if maybe they have another problem, and he asked Anna. ] Please tell me the dead haven't also risen. I think that would be fit as a, if things couldn't get any worse kind of, scenario.

[ Tom took in a deep breath, and at one point he might have agreed to being a pacifist but that kind of attitude doesn't tend to work. ] Sorry kid, we're not exactly in a situation where we can afford not to kill the enemy.

Well, that is what I am running from. I have no idea what you are talking about with aliens? Just that isn't what I have been dealing with for the past few months on my own.

And I couldn't agree more with your last sentence.

Oh...well you guys may not be in that situation but I am. Got the skills and speed going for me, and both open up a bunch of other options. Heck, made it through all this without killing so far! Granted I just tend to grab hold of the buggers and run them up North to the frosty polar caps, but at least they have a fighting chance compared to a gunshot or something.

I am good at getting supplies and firin' a gun. It's amazing what ya learn how here. ( She gives him a smile and lets her hand drop to her lap when he lets go of it. ) It's nice to meet you, Tom.

We had been doing good on our resources, but we hit a really bad dry spell. Then, we lost a lot of people outta our group and that didn't help. And, like I said, we really do appreciate it. It's nice seeing other survivors again.

We can use all the supplies and manpower we can get, so I think you found yourself a place.

[ It was when she tells him about the people that they have lost that it hit him. With a soft sigh with a frown following right after it he stops to think for a moment. The made the final sacrifice for the good of the group. ] I know how hard times are and losing people can be. How's the moral of your group?

Then I'd say we're about even then when it comes to the unthinkable happening. [ Tom laughed with a sharp nod of his head. ] I'd say it's fitting if we're now faced with both an alien and zombie apocalypse, and I'm not about to discredit anything you just said either.

Fighting chance?! [ Tom rarely raised his voice, but when he heard Bart talk about giving an enemy that was intent on pushing the human race to extinction he snapped. ] They don't deserve a fighting chance! The human race is at the brink of extinction and you're worried about giving the Espheni a fighting chance!

This isn't a war of ideals! It is a war that's for the very survival of the human race!

I don't take lives, human or alien! Surviving is all good but if the cost is being forced to become a living weapon, well than count me out. Look I will do whatever I can to keep the people safe...supplies, scouting, running freaking messages, heck I can dismantle those robo cop wannabes before you can even blink! I can disarm those bug guys before they even knew what hit them, but for all that I will not take a life.

So it's your call big guy...

( His question caused her to sigh and look over to where Rick was talking to the man someone had called Captain Weaver earlier. ) It depends on the day, I guess. Rick lost his wife Lori a few months ago after she'd delivered their daughter Judith. Lori, their son Carl and I got separated from the rest of the group during a skitter attack. Lori went into labor, and the only way to save Judith's life was for me to cut her out. Lori died from the trauma of it, and now Rick... well, he's good most days but I think when he gets stressed out, he has conversations with Lori. And, Carl's a good kid, but he grew up a lot after watchin' his mom die. As for the rest of us - we've been fightin' for so long that it's the way we live now, and I think we're stronger for it.
