[Answers phone] Slater, FBI, who's this?

Basement. I locked them in the basement. I think they're trying to get out.

[Cue loud banging noise as Beth shoves something heavy in front of the door.

Also, -insert address here]

[Crap, that was across the county line, a good half hour away] That's good, keep them there, do they have any way of getting out? Ground-level windows? Ventilation? Laundry chutes?

I-I-I think there's an air vent.

Oh God I'm going to die.

You're going to be fine, you need to find somewhere defensible, walk in closet maybe, block the door with towels, if you've got cayenne pepper, even better, goblins are burrowers, like moles, they mostly navigate by sense of smell, anything that throws that off will help you. Also means their eyes are sensitive to light, so make sure you've got a bright flashlight with you.

[BRB RAIDING SPICE CABINET]

I-I'm in a bathroom, that works, right?

Yeah, yeah, that'll work good. It'll be about a half hour until I can get anybody to your location, so sit tight. We're on the way.

[he did hurry, because he was Bobby and she was a damsel in distress.]

[He managed to get there in twenty three minutes, and he was glad that it was only a pair of goblins, though the ruckus he kicked up putting them both down was probably enough to wake the neighbors.]

[Yeah, way to go Bobby. Someone probably called the cops or something. Especially since Beth was screaming earlier before she got smart and tried to call the authorities.

Which she also failed at, but things worked out okay anyway!

She's still sitting in the tub, pointing a bottle of cayenne pepper and her flashlight defensively toward the door and trying not to flip out because loud noises oh God what]

[He finally pushes the door open carefully, ready to dodge if anything gets hucked]

You alright in here?

[She was about ready to throw that flashlight, man.]

I think so. U-um, are they gone?

Yeah, you're good. Probably won't have any problems with them later either.

[She slowly climbs out of the tub]

[She's just never going to go into the basement ever again. Talk about life scaring events]

[This is an opportune moment for awkward silence.

But then Beth bites her lip and holds out her hand]

[He accepts the handshake, glad that it wasn't a hug, he still didn't know how to react to the hugs] Bobby.

[As much as Beth would have loved to give him a hug, she doesn't hug strangers. Safety first and all that, obviously]

[Crisis has been averted. Now Beth doesn't know what to do.
